Elie Saab

Yeah... outside Elie Saab, and I've got the funniest story to tell. Me and some of my friends were outside the show trying to get some good pictures, and in the mean time, while the show was going, we decided to take pictures of ourselves, you know.. doing the funny poses and everything, and while we were in it we were talking about how a friend of ours has such good connection with the camera is impossible to take a bad picture of her, it doesn't matter if she's making the most ridiculous face, her name is Elina. By the time the show was over and the people started to come out, we saw a tall redhead being followed by, and I'm not exaggerating, more than a dozen of photographers, I don't think even Jessica Stam has gone through that!, we couldn't see her face, and while we approached the spot, we all just froze, while realizing that the flaming redhead was indeed our good friend Elina Mauno, yeah... our Elina:
1st thought that entered my mind: Since she's been doing some modeling in Finland, I guess she just walked the show and didn't tell us she was going to do so
2nd thought: she's a superstar in Finland and she hasn't told us.
3rd thought: she's secretly a multimillionaire socialite and hasn't told us.
4rd thought: there wasn't really a 4th thought, I just stood there and I didn't even realize when the words had come out of my big mouth:- "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

While I shouted that in the middle of the Tuileries' gardens confusing the camera guys, another friend stood pointing her finger at Elina screaming "You sneaky!!". The photographers looked confused for a second, and then they kept taking pictures of her, they just assumed she was a model that had walked the show, plus she had great style so I don't blame them. Yeah... my good friend Elina and a friend of hers had sneaked into the show, what led to the next conversation:

Friend: Elina, how the hell did you get in?!
Elina: I just handed him my student card and he let me in
Friend: Wow!.. so fashion people really are stupid!

After thinking that I was gonna dye of laughing so hard, I explained to my inexperienced friend, that fashion people are everything but, they are people of aesthetics, and the truth is that Elina Mauno is a gorgeous girl and it wouldn't have mattered if she had handed him a "post-it" with her name written by a 4 year old and a happy face as an official ID, they would've let her in anyways!

Oh yeah, and Elina Mauno is the very first pic you see here. We all love you Elina!!

Okay okay I really tried with tumblr, but is just not the same.

Yeah.. still with Dior, I posted some pictures but I haven’t told the whole story! when the show was over I was busy running around trying to take pictures of people to post them on the blog, I saw Coco Rocha whom by the way responded to a comment posted by me on her facebook page. When I was heading down the metro I saw some people that looked kinda lost, I was currently waiting for a friend to call me so in between my confusion “meeting friend” wise, I went down and asked the previously mentioned people if they wanted any help, it was then when I had the amazing opportunity of meeting Keke Lindgard, her mom and what I thought was her bf. First of all I have to say they are lovely lovely people, and after I offered to take them where they needed to go, we talked about the show and how we missed being back in each our homes, it was an amazing experience for me to have met them and realized how nice people they were, and I’m incredibly thankful for them to have answered my silly questions about the fashion industry, I asked Keke how long did it take to do her make up and her hair and she said like 1:30 hours each!, she also told me that there was no way she could know which runways she was gonna do the day after since they may give you a call at 12 at night for a show you have to be the next day. We also talked about how hard it was for them being so busy all the time to take a close look at Paris as a tourist would do for example, they told me that they’ve always wanted to stay a little longer but they were so tired by the end of it that they only wanted to go home. It must be really really tiring and stressing during fashion week, although Keke assured me that she wasn’t!

Anyways I’m really happy with the experience and if they ever read this I’d like to thank them again, and I really hope we cross our ways in the future. I hope you guys have a great time in Paris, and if you need any help just call me.

Paris

So.. a lot of catching up to do people. Since last time I've posted I have:

1. Met and jammed with a girl that's writing songs for a producer in Holland, and will be the best next thing I promise.

2. Seen Freja Beha Erichsen and Abbey Lee K. this afternoon outside Balmain

3. Seen a real invitation to the Dior show

4. Did I mention this? I moved to Paris, 7th arrondisement

5. Yeah.. she's gonna hate me for saying this but for you fashion lovers, I just discovered that a friend of mine is really good friends with Stephanie Bambie

you would notice that my life just got a little bit more excited... I am now here in Paris as an exchange student and I'm having the time of my life. What led me to write again? I guess the vibe on the streets of Paris saying it's fashion week, plus I have to document somehow my experiences in here, and having a diary hasn't been very effective, if someone else is reading maybe I would be more inspired to write. =D

Fashion's Nigh out

For those of you, lucky people, who are in one of the "it" cities, specially NYC tonight, I envy you big time!. I envy the red carpet, the wild parties, the window shopping, the actual shopping, but most of all the experience that you will be able to have!, being in the middle of such big arty, iconic, economic, energizing, and epic event. Go out and celebrate and then write about it!

Well.. I'm still stuck here, in the middle of nowhere, and most of the time my wifi connection is the only peek of the current fashion art stuff that goes on in the world, so yeah, I decided to show you another collection I liked for spring 2011, I mean what better way to start Fashion week?
Organic by John Patrick is an awesome collection, like the Vogue review described, it's a collection that transmits a Sunday vibe; the way I see it, John Patrick brought all of these vintage attempts to actual solidification. I love it, and I bought a couple of oxfords a little time ago so it inspired me.

Pretty Little Liars

Well I really like this new show called Pretty Little Liars, the story as far as I know is based on the books written by Sara Shepard; in some aspects so far, you could say it's a little different than most teenage shows, since the main problem introduced at the beginning is concerning a missing person, and possibly a murder. The show keeps you hooked (me) due to the numerous secrets that everyone has and the one they share. I don't know but it's sort of like a Desperate Housewives gone high school, in the way that they all lost a friend in mysterious circumstances. Anyways you should watch it and give me your opinion.
You know how the outfit of a character is supposed to tell you a lot about it? well in this case I happen to agree in every character in the show. The one's style I like the most is Aria, I like the bohemian, the layers, and the warm colors she's always wearing.

Also, does anyone know who made that leather jacket? I think it's a Mike & Chris but I'm not sure.. if someone knows please tell. Who's character's style is your favorite?

Puerto Vallarta

okay if you don't wanna read it all, just jump to the SURF part, it really was the highlight of my trip

I just got back from a family vacation in Puerto Vallarta, for you who don't know what that is, Puerto Vallarta is a nice beach here in México, well that's what they say, in my opinion, the beach is not that nice, if you want to go to a nice beach, nothing beats the Caribbean, Cancun is your best choice. But anyways I enjoyed the trip, the hotel was nice, and there's no down side of all included, right?.
This was the view from my hotel room, I took the pictures with my mac, since I forgot my camera.. how could I?
Even thought the all included days were nice and relaxing the highlight of my trip was Sayulita, which is a beach near puerto vallarta that's not actually in the bay, so the waves hit the beach perfectly, what makes it an ideal surfing location. Since my firsts visits to some California's beaches I had been excited about taking a surfing lesson sometime, so knowing that I was going to have a gamily vacation in Puerto Vallarta I did my fair research and found this "Sayulita" beach's reviews online.

SURF
When we got to "Sayulita" beach it was much nicer that Puerto's beach, I saw a beautiful boy sitting in what seemed a tropical outdoors office with a bunch of surfboard lined down, and I didn't thought twice about heading in that direction. My mom had settled in a little tent by the end of the beach that sold coconut water, and after agreeing to what he was gonna pay for my lesson my dad decided to join her.
I decided to prepare and amuse myself by asking questions to this 25 year old red blooded/tall/blonde/muscular/tanned/hippie/Tennessee boy, I later found out after a small talk that he had ended up moving there haunting the surfing waves. I was ready to have a lesson from him in no time, but then when we'd agreed that I was in fact going to take the lesson he called the real instructor in, biggest dissappointment of my life when I saw an old/bald/fat/young wannabe man who said I should "cover my head with my arms to cover my pretty face in case I fell cause the rocks were really near the surface"; okay, that sounds cruel, but it really broke my perfect surfing lesson fantasy. Anyways, while I was taking my land lesson, and watching the people surfing, I got a little freaked out, was it gonna be hard? but then I saw a woman with what seemed her three daughters (two of then about 10 years old or less) approach my new surf coach and told him they would like to get a lesson later when I had finished mine, that gave me courage. When we hit the water he turned out to be a pretty good teacher, he made small talk, he was not so well spoken but I got the pointers he wanted to teach, and there I was, the first attempt was amazing, I actually stood up and rode the wave, he was like "whaat?", beginners luck I guess, since the three following attempts I managed to fall on my butt in the water, maybe because I had to swim back like 20 meters to catch a new wave and my arms didn't seem to obey after a while. But I think I got the idea by the end of my lesson.

TEQUILA
After this awesome workout I fell asleep in the car, then we stopped by a town named Tequila, guess what they make over there?, yeah I guess I don't have to tell you, but I can tell you that now I'm very illustrated on the Tequila-making industry and fabrication, the kinds, the production, etc. My parents bought a couple of bottles to bring them back as gifts, and after that we headed back home. Oh and I have to mention that after my surfing lesson I discovered that I hadn't put enough sun block on the back of my legs, and given that that was the most exposed part of my skin, no wonder why it got all red, I got over it and I'm happy with my tan.
